won't make too much sense backing mine up.

i am using mpcs as cardserver by the way. not cccam server.

this option must be set in the cfg file yes. but as i never used cccam server i cannot tell u how exactly to change it for cccam server.

there is also a good howto for mpcs in the forum.

ich hab ubuntu 9.04 server neu installiert und da lauft den smargo nix , der zeigt no card insterd , muss ich irgend welchen treibe1 runterladen damit der smargo die karte liest

nein.
normalerweise nicht. hab ich noch nie gehört....

hab mal was gelesen das jemand ubuntu 9.10 installiert hatte und das ganze nicht mehr ging. laut dieser person sei wohl ein neuer ftdi treiber schuld der bei ubuntu rein kam.
eventuell wird das bei der 9.04 per updates mit geupdated. eine klare aussage kann ich dazu aber nicht machen....

karte richtig im smargo drin?

ich würde mal testweise newcs, mpcs oder oscam probieren. nur die reader sektion für die karte einstellen und schauen was dieser sagt.

cccam habe ich leider zu wenig erfahrung was den serverteil betrifft.... :(

ich habe mittlerweile mehrere smargos. mein erster den ich hatte (eine ältere serie) hatte auch immer mal wieder das problem. card not inserted oder card not detected. kamen immer verschiedene meldungen. restart des cardservers hat das problem meist behoben. teilweise hat es aber 2-4 restarts gebraucht.
seit dem ich die derzeit neueste serie des smargos habe kann ich dieses problem bei mir nicht mehr reproduzieren.

ansonsten damit du mehr hilfe bekommst bräuchte man mal die logs und configs. vllt weiß ja noch jemand was zum cccam server.
ansonsten würde ich sowieso eher zu newcs, mpcs oder oscam raten.

yesterday i had installed ubuntu 9.04 without update ,installing CC.x86 and cfg.
it had worked till next reboot and after that it has not detect card.but when i give -d command it show me nds card at very first time.then does not detect the card.

i have athlon 1.8 ghz with 512 mb ram.
some has told me that i need to buy a new pc with atom and ram must upper then 2 gb then it will work like charm

curious problem u got...

i dont think its a problem of the hardware. other people run their card in a dbox2 oder in a dreambox. these, especially the dbox2 have much less performance than a pc hardware. also detecting the card shouldn't make any trouble with your hardware.
my hardware spec is a lot higher. intel dual core 2ghz overclocked to 2,66 with 2gb ram. will switch too other hardware soon which is stronger again, but still in setting it up. (again debian 5.0.3)

as a wrote before maybe thats a prob of the smargo u got. i had similar problems with the older smargo version too that detecting the card was not possible. or it was detected but mpcs said unsupported card system. without touching the smargo or the card restarting mpcs a few times (mostly 2-4) solved the problem. with the new smargo version (see argolis.com for design) i haven't recognized the problem.

maybe u can also set your smargo to auto recognize the card mhz and so on. or try fixing the mhz with the smargo software. nds has 3.57mhz i think. but recheck that again!!!

i also read that there are fake smargo's around. maybe also that is your problem.

u have any possibilities to check your card in a dreambox directly? maybe your card makes problems.

best ways in my opinion, or what i would do...
- post configs and total log outputs here
- check card in other reader. best would be not in smargo.
- if card runs in a dreambox. check card with smargo in the dreambox or some other box
- also i would try reading the card on linux server or some other hardware with other cardserver such as newcs, mpcs or oscam.

i think all other ways won't make too much sense. u have to try in some other setup. after u reinstalled i don't think its a software problem of your linux system.

most easiest way is probably setting up a newcs or mpcs and try with them.
