Hello

i,m sorry i,m bad with writing in german.

well yesterday i have put the Sf image in the box.

problem 1....in the emergency menu i cannot shut off the receiver with the remote.
only with the button on the back.

problem 2....i dont see a ip address while booting...only 0.0.0.0
in the emergency menu i do see a ip.

problem 3....
i cannot put the addon in,after switching on the receiver the addon is gone.


can someone please help.

hello,
wich version do you have?
30.06 or 10.07?
you can't turn of the kathi in emergeny boot via remote control!
that's normal that you can only turn off in this mode by pressing on/off on the back!

to your problem:
your image flashing was not completly successfull or you tried to set an ip manualy and that's wasn't successfull! for ip-changes use "ws_ftp le" (ftp-program) or totalcmd (ftp-program also) and "winvi" (editor) for example!!

you have to manually erase the ram of your kathi!
after this you can flash "emergency-kernel (orig. 1.03fw)"
and at least flash the 10.07 sf (with dhcp support) or 30.06 (static-ip)!
this might be successfull!

my english isn't so bad but i'm not able to translate the manual 100% to english!

you can try this at your own risk!
I'm not responsable for any damage of your kathi if that doesn't work!!

i erased before and installed the original and then the sf version.
i have to do that again?

how come the addon[tar] will not stick?


update....i do have a ip now with booting.

but no key file on the place stated.

put the addon*.tar.bz2 to /usr/local/etc
there are 2 different addons for 30.06 and 10.07 use for your image the correct one!!!

power off/on via remote! look at the display... view seconds later it shows "installing addon", about 60 sec. later kathi finished booting!

did this work, you can see a folder called ke*s under "/usr/local"

place your autoroll.ke* and softcam.ke* there (look for it on ulc, download maybe sinske*bundle for example)

i got 1 reaction on the screen ...said uncompress addon.
later i checked the prog again and the addon was gone from the list in the receiver.


i can put in a addon while the receiver is on[not emergency menu] now.

but no luck so far.

i found 2 diff add-ons [sf site]

so i have to put bz2 behind that right?

this will after installation gone! thats right!!!

download them, put it into folder /usr/local/etc
power off, power on via remote and so on!!
trust me it works on sf-image 10.07!!

but its still there in the list..nothing happens

download them, put it into folder /usr/local/etc
power off, power on via remote and so on!!
trust me it works on sf-image 10.07!!

maybe theres something wrong with your downloader!!

load the addon from the SF page
rename addon_20070710.tar.tar in addon_20070710.tar.bz2, copy in /usr/local/etc/ and reboot!

flashfxp, filezilla didn't work correctly!!

it's important that you use the correct addon: for 30.06 image the addon 30.06, for 10.07 image addon 10.07!!! (for example: sf 30.06 + addon 10.07 didn't work!!!)

try one of these programs, if that doesn't work, try flashing again!!

all files you need for flashing are on the manual page (http://www.spinnes-board.de/vb/showthread.php?t=105296) and here (http://www.anfy.cz/sfteam/images.htm) (download 1-4) too!!!

if you've tried to flash sf 10.07 you have for reflashing first to erase the ram manually, then flash first the orig firmware and after this the sf again!!

(take care that german date-format: dd:mm:yy, the is the same in english-format: yy:mm:dd)

utillitis/hardware you need for this:
1. zeromodemcable, com-port on your pc/laptop
2. networkcable ("patchcable" for kathi-switch-pc or "crossover" for kathi-pc connection)
3. hyperterminal
4. tftpd32.303 from here: <klick> (http://tftpd32.jounin.net/tftpd32_download.html)
5. emergeny.ub from here: <klick> (http://rapidshare.com/files/53069576/emergency.ub.html)
6. notfallkernel-firmware-orig.1.03 from here: <klick> (http://rapidshare.com/files/53089158/notfall.zip.html)
7. bootable usb-stick with fat32 formatted

there only some differences beetween 30.6 and 10.07!

30.06:
static ip (192.168.1.25) , no dhcp, no dns
fast booting, fast zapping, update/downgrade via-usb-stick to 10.07 without erasing ram possible!

10.07:
static ip or dhcp (on booting you can change it to your favorite)
dns
slow booting
slower zapping
update/downgrade only possible with erasing ram

for your first experience maybe you try the 30.06 first!!

my box doesnt find it...searched transponder...complete sat etc etc.

so no connection with the receiver.

take care that you use the 30.06 addon and NOT the addon named 10.07!! this didn't work on 30.06!!!

here is the link for the correct addon again (you have to unpack them, an in the new folder on your pc is a file called: "addon.tar.bz2" ! this one you have to put in /usr/local/etc) on your kathi!!



remote-off and on that's it!
then must be there a folder /usr/local/ke*s!!!!

thats exactly what i did.
i have the right addon.

but something else.
i use dcc 2.7
when i start the program and it connects.
i push ftp to see the left list like usr etc etc.
but at the end[under]of that list there are 2 objects named....dev.tar.bz2
...usr.tar.bz2.

why do you want to use rdg or camd3?
the channels you can this with that are in german or in spanish or in france!

maybe for you it's better to use the orig fw in combination with a diablo ci!

maybe it's better for you:
order a dbox2 in debug with linux (1/2 costs of a kathi!)!! play with that! learn basics!!
resell your kathi!
if you didn'T damage the dbox2,
order a kathi again!

you had successfull installed sf 30.06
you can watch fta channels with that correct?

fact2:
you've downloading addon.rar with date 30062007 correct?

try to unpack these file with maybe "izarc" (freeware packing/unpacking tool like winzip)

connect via ws_ftp le to your kathi
(options: binary, unix-standard, connection-settings: ip: your kathi ip, user: root, pw: kathrein, haken in save pwd)

put the addon.tar.bz2 in folder /usr/local/etc

remote off-on

on display message appears: unpacking and installing addon

after that you have installed successfull the addon and you can see afolder called ke*s under /usr/local

please use the programs aboth!
(for dedicated ws_ftp settings call again!)

if you don't have installed them, google for it an install thes ones!

that's in hell had to work!

diablo mit stealth 2.08 kommt! besitzer war zu blöde en bisserl zu warten auf au und hat gleich seine humax mit vertickt! saublöde!! ich hab nur des ci von ihm!!!

und evtl kann ich des light auch gegen ne wifi tauschen und dann wirds ja noch intressanter nach deiner methode und ich ich brauch kein papier zu ordern! *lol

als server stehen 5 weitere dbox2 bei diversen kumpels bereit, auf die kann ich via www zugreifen und die jederzeit für mich aktivieren (mc inklusive)!
(war vorraussetzung dafür das ich die denen fertig gemacht habe und im endeffekt wissen die gr nicht worums sich dreht ;) )

das www is schon ne coole sache ;)

und meine dbox2 kommt natürlich erst unter den hammer wenn en cardreader an der kathi funtzt, neutrino drauf ist usw.!!! ;)

soweit ich weis dreht sichs nur noch darum den tunertreiber korrekt anzusprechen!!

was derzeit nur zu 60% hinhaut!

da neutrino der gpl unterliegt müsste es folglich en klax sein, wenn man den dvb-treiber korrekt initialisieren kann, sprich kerneleinbindung korrekt abläuft, beispielsweise neutrino von der dbox2 auf die kathi zu portieren! wär dann nur ne anpassungssache der richtigen ordner, aber des hat z.b ja auch doz21 bei der camd3 hingebogen für die kathi!

dauert vielleicht noch 3-6mon. aber dann denke ich gehts richtig ab!

habe mich auch bereit erklärt dafür als betatester mich und meine kathi zur verfügung zu stellen und letzte info war das es wohl läuft als alpha verison, die mods des erst aber noch antesten und dann denjenigen dies intressiert und etwas ahnung haben zu testzwecken zur verfügung stellen!

whats is the problem with this receiver?
i searched astra 2.but he doesnt find bbc HD...even the transponder is empty according to the kathi.

but prem works now.

soweit ich weis dreht sichs nur noch darum den tunertreiber korrekt anzusprechen!!
was derzeit nur zu 60% hinhaut!
da neutrino der gpl unterliegt müsste es folglich en klax sein, wenn man den dvb-treiber korrekt initialisieren kann, sprich kerneleinbindung korrekt abläuft, beispielsweise neutrino von der dbox2 auf die kathi zu portieren! wär dann nur ne anpassungssache der richtigen ordner, aber des hat z.b ja auch doz21 bei der camd3 hingebogen für die kathi!
dauert vielleicht noch 3-6mon. aber dann denke ich gehts richtig ab!
habe mich auch bereit erklärt dafür als betatester mich und meine kathi zur verfügung zu stellen und letzte info war das es wohl läuft als alpha verison, die mods des erst aber noch antesten und dann denjenigen dies intressiert und etwas ahnung haben zu testzwecken zur verfügung stellen!

the kathi has a damned stupid channel search!!! really buggy!
that's on al firmwares too!
use slattis-liste (http://www.spinnes-board.de/vb/showthread.php?t=103557) edit at your own wishes with the channeleditor-sw, delete the orig in your kathi under /config, put the new one in there an rights on 777 (wsftp alle haken rein) finish!! (i'm not sure there is a bbc hd!)

yes on astra 28 east ,is bbc HD.
the quality is very good i hear.
by the way...i have the kathi connected with hdmi on my full HD screen.
but i find the quality not that good.
compared to other receivers.

take care only hd channels are great!!
normal channels sends in slower bitrates so there is the picture quality not so good!

this is not the kathi prob!!

take a look on disc*very hd or anixe hd!
phanomenal picture quality!!

no don't upgrade!!
if you kathi runs good use 30.06!
you're beginner so try this version a little bit first!
only for cracks the 10.07 has more options!

when i put every sat on universal the channels came flying in.
you should see BBC HD...wauw!
